Costa Rica and Los Angeles!

 IS 3753 Global Apparel: Costa Rica and USA

 

 

 

This course examines the apparel industry in southern California and Costa Rica, including a comparison of wages and working conditions, education and training, environmental issues, the role of multinational corporations, and the impact of trade agreements. The course also examines attitudes toward, and social perceptions of, factorylabor in both locations. The course includes field trips to apparel factories and a three-week stay in Costa Rica beginning June 15th.

Team-taught (P. Collins, Gendel, and Swan), multidisciplinary (Economics, Fashion Design, and Psychology) 3 units, lecture, counts for upper division G E or upper division Psychology Elective for Psychology majors

*While in Costa Rica, you can also explore the rain forest, cloud forest, beaches, volcanoes, hot springs, and . . . more.
