Woodbury University to Host Lectures by Architect Dan Hoffman, Designer Christina Kim (BURBANK, CA February 20, 2002) Woodbury University will host two free lectures that explore environmental issues related to architecture and design. The lectures, sponsored by the Woodbury University School of Architecture and Design and Toyota Motor Sales USA, are open to the public. "Multiples" by architect Dan Hoffman will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26 at Woodbury University, 7500 Glenoaks Blvd., Burbank. Hoffman will discuss his recent work on housing projects for Native American Indians and the possibilities of an architecture of responsive building units. A professor at Arizona State University, he was previously the architect in residence at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan. "Making By Hand" by noted Los Angeles fashion designer Christina Kim will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26 at Woodbury University, 7500 Glenoaks Blvd., Burbank. Kim, who will discuss the art of hand-crafted clothing, takes an environmentally friendly approach to design and favors using every scrap of fabric. Her Dosa label features clean lines of simple designs made in subtly sensual fabrics such as silk taffeta, handkerchief linen and liquid velvet. The label is a favorite of actresses Nicole Kidman and Cameron Diaz. This marks the third year that Woodbury and Toyota Motor Sales USA, which calls the environment one of its primary concerns, have hosted the lecture series. For more information about the lectures, please call 818.767.0888. ###
