Donor Sponsored Scholarships

Alumni Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Woodbury Alumni Association and through donations from members, provides annual scholarships to selected upper-division students who demonstrate significant financial need. To be eligible for the award, recipients must be enrolled in at least a half-time academic load, be making satisfactory academic progress and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better.

The Harvey and Marilyn Cova Endowed Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need and who hold a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better.

The Jacqueline Powers Doud Endowed Scholarship is awarded each Fall Semester to a second year student with a major in computer information systems. Recipients must have completed 30 or more semester hour units with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better during the first year of study at Woodbury.

The Carl and Doris Eyerick Family Endowed Trust Scholarship is awarded to students who reside in the cities of Burbank or Glendale, California. Recipients must be enrolled full-time, achieve satisfactory academic progress and maintain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.

The Farmers Insurance Group Scholarship is awarded to second-, third- and fourth-year students who have demonstrated financial need, have a 2.5 GPA or better, and who are pursuing degrees in insurance-related fields such as accounting, business administration and finance. Awards range from $500 to $2000 per academic year.

The William Randolph Hearst Foundation Endowed Scholarships for Weekend College are awarded to matriculated Weekend College students who maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average, half time enrollment, and who have demonstrated financial need. Awards range from $300 to $1500, depending upon availability of funding.

Fletcher Jones Foundation Endowed Scholarship is awarded to undergraduates who enroll full time, demonstrate financial need and who hold a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better. Awards are renewable, subject to availability of funding.

The Dr. Richard E. King Endowed Scholarship in Business provides grants to deserving students with preference to those studying international business. Established in 1996 by a gift from Dr. King, a trustee of the University, and his wife, Dr. Carol King. Recipients must enroll full-time and maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average. Awards are renewable subject to availability of funds.

The Dora E. Kirby Endowed Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students on the basis of demonstrated financial need and scholastic achievement. The award is renewable and recipients must enroll in a full-time academic load, achieve a satisfactory academic progress and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better.

The Robert Carl Laatsch Endowed Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students. Recipients enroll full-time, demonstrate financial need and hold a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better.

The Lluella Morey Murphey Foundation Endowed Scholarship is awarded to second, third and fourth year students who demonstrate financial need and who hold a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better.

The National Broadcasting Company (NBC) Federal Employee Credit Union Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in Graphic Arts. Recipients enroll full-time, demonstrate financial need and hold a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better.

The Mabel Wilson Richards Scholarships are awarded to undergraduate women who reside in the City or County of Los Angeles, maintain a 3.0 GPA or better and demonstrate financial need. Recipients must be enrolled full-time each semester. Awards range from $750 to $2500 per academic year.

The George E. Isaacs Foundation Scholarships in Business is an annual scholarship of $2,000 to a senior majoring in business. The student will have completed not less than three years towards the bachelorís degree and manifest high academic achievement.

An annual scholarship of $2,000 to a graduate student who has completed one year of the two-year MBA program. The student selected must demonstrate high academic achievement in the field of business.

The William L. Yerkes Endowed Scholarship was established by the Yerkes family and friends in memory of Bill Yerkes, long-time trustee of Woodbury University. Undergraduate recipients enroll full-time, demonstrate financial need and hold a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better.

The Marian McDonald Scholarship, sponsored by the women of Eta Upsilon Gamma (EUG) through donations from sorority alumnae, provides scholarships to selected upper division Woodbury women who are active student leaders in their sorority. To be eligible for the scholarship, recipients must be enrolled full time and maintain a grade point average of 3.0.
