Center for Lifelong Learning

Woodbury University offers working adults a wide range of choices in planning their education, including Accelerated Degree Programs, Weekend College, and two different MBA Programs. Classes are designed for the adult learner, and are offered in the evenings or on weekends to fit most working schedules.

Woodbury University is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and the School of Business and Management is additionally accredited by The Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

For more information on any of these programs, or to reserve space at an information session, please call 888.791.0888, or 818.767.0888, ext. 231, or e-mail the Center for Lifelong Learning at lifelonglearning@woodbury.edu.

The Accelerated Degree Program

The Accelerated Degree Program (AACEL) offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Management (with concentrations in management, human resources, finance, or a marketing minor) through an innovative program designed specifically for working adults with at least 30 college units and at least three years of full-time work experience since graduating from high school.

AACEL courses are completed within a five-week or eight-week academic period, meeting one evening a week or on weekends for four hours. Nine consecutive sessions are offered each year, providing the opportunity for temporary time away from college without missing a complete semester. A student can earn 27 units each year by attending classes just one night each week. There are no mandatory study groups required in this non-cohort, accelerated program.

Tuition for the AACEL Program is $402 per unit. Registration is year-round, with admission every five weeks.

Weekend College

Weekend College, which began in 1987 as one of the first programs of its kind in California, uses contemporary teaching methods including seminars and case studies. A creative method of scheduling and hands-on academic support from instructors and counselors make it possible for a student to earn a bachelor's degree while continuing to work full-time and still have a life outside of work and school.

Majors offered in Weekend College are: Accounting, Business & Management (with concentrations in Finance, Human Resources Development, or Management), Computer Information Systems, Psychology, and Marketing.

Students in Weekend College come to the University seven non-consecutive weekends per semester. There are three terms: Fall, Spring and Summer. Tuition for the Weekend College is $402 per unit.

The MBA Program

Woodbury University's MBA has been crafted specifically for working professionals. We've thought of your busy schedule and arranged for classes to be taught on weekends and evenings. You can formulate your individual degree plan using a combination of both formats.

We've considered the learning dynamic among business professionals and made our classes small and interactive. Faculty members are academic leaders and seasoned business professionals, so courses are built on sound business fundamentals and infused with cutting-edge insights from today's corporate world.

We know that your business world is global in its dimensions, and so our program accents the international. Students from more than 30 nations join with local area business persons in our MBA student body, adding multi-national insights to discussions of current business issues. The MBA program consists of 12 classes totaling 36 units (9 required core courses and 3 electives). Admissions take place in January, May or August.

The working professional MBA student at Woodbury typically enrolls in two classes per semester, finishing the MBA in two calendar years. Individuals with more time to commit to study may actually enroll in three or even four courses per semester, thereby completing the degree in as little as one calendar year.

Tuition is $620 per semester unit.

The Accelerated MBA Program

Woodbury University offers an accelerated MBA. This program is specically designed for working professionals who have five or more years of full-time work experience since graduating from college.

In the accelerated MBA, students bring a wealth of experience to the classroom. We capitalize on this work experience by creating a highly interactive, collaborative learning environment in the classroom.

The accelerated MBA program consists of 12 courses (9 required core courses and 3 electives). Admissions takes place every 8 weeks.

The accelerated MBA courses are offered year-round in 8-week modules. The typical accelerated MBA student works full-time and enrolls in one course per 8-week module.

Tuition is $553 per unit.
