Woodbury University welcomes and encourages candidates for admission who are focused on studying in an environment emphasizing professional careers and practical degrees. The Admission Committee carefully considers each applicant as a unique individual with special talents, strengths and areas of challenge. Primary emphasis is placed on the applicant's prior academic record, while each of the other elements of the application are also given significant consideration. An interview is recommended when possible. Applications for admission are reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants with or without prior college experience may apply for admission to the Fall, Spring or Summer terms. Students who currently attend high school, or have never attended a college or university, are considered first-year applicants. The following documentation is required of all first-year applicants:
Although not required, students applying for architecture, interior architecture, fashion design or graphic design may submit photographs or slides of their work. These documents become the property of the University. Applicants to the Animation Arts program are required to submit a portfolio for review. The portfolio will be returned. Admissions decisions are made with consideration of a number of factors including high school grade point average, SAT or ACT score, strength of courses taken in high school, and special talent relevant to the desired field of study. While the University does not employ specific minimum scores, it seeks students with a record of academic success and a desire to excel. The University accepts applications for first-year admission on a rolling basis. However, first priority is given to applicants who apply prior to March 1 for fall admission and October 1 for winter admission. Applications received after this time will be considered on a space-available basis. Students with additional questions about first-year admissions should contact the Office of Admission.
