Progress Evaluator, Registrar's Office

Founded in 1884, Woodbury University is an independent, coeducational non-profit, nonsectarian, partially residential institution of 1,400 students accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Overall Responsibility:
This position reports to the Registrar and will receive direction from the Assistant Registrar. Responsible for maintenance, update, and assessment of student status data and compliance with government and university regulations. Must develop an overview of a variety of reporting cycles and office functions in order to initiate and maintain appropriate procedural and system responses. Assists in the evaluation of transfer credit for current and prospective students, and other articulation duties.

Duties:
Each semester, assess students' academic standing. Identify the population in potential jeopardy and submit a report to the Office of Academic Affairs for decision and notification. Develop and maintain tracking mechanisms necessary to ensure the accurate and timely documentation of individual student progress, probation and disqualification. Maintain the dual audit trail (hard copy and electronic) with regard to additional student status situations: leave of absence, withdrawal, out-of-status, extended status and statute of limitations. Responsible for status data integrity. Develop methods for audit and continual updating. Share in all evaluation duties of the Registrar's Office, which may include, but are not limited to, transfer analysis and articulation, issues of residency and concurrent enrollment. In addition, provides research for petitions to the Faculty Academic Policy Appeals Committee. Responsible for accurate electronic enrollment verification to the National Student Loan Clearinghouse and adhering to the 60 day reporting cycle (input, audit, send). Monitors changes in regulations as well as changes initiated by the Clearinghouse. Responsible for the university's continued compliance with the Tax Payer Relief Act with regard to student enrollment data. Assists in input and audit of grade submission process. Co-responsible for Cal Grant GPA verification process. Provide back up support for counter and telephone reception.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree. Familiarity with academic procedures and protocols helpful but not essential. Two years computer experience: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, email ­ Access a plus) and knowledge of database software (Windows and/or DOS). Able to learn office practices, procedures, equipment. Detail and multi-task orientation; skills in analysis and problem solving; ability to organize. The ability to learn University curricula, and develop a working knowledge of academic and administrative policies and procedures. Must develop a full knowledge of academic regulations and standards of confidentiality and security dictated by law and common practice. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Personal and interactive skills needed to work in a very busy, fast-paced environment. Extensive contact with students, faculty and staff, requiring customer service orientation.
