Interdisciplinary Studies

Mary A. Collins, Ph.D., Dean

The interdisciplinary studies major is an individual program of study for students with strong interest in multiple disciplines. The major provides depth in more than one discipline and focuses on the interconnections among disciplines. Students develop breadth of knowledge and acquire the diverse skills needed in a complex world. The major addresses the increasing demand for college graduates with interdisciplinary backgrounds who are prepared to work in diverse settings and have the knowledge needed for creative and innovative approaches to situations.

The student-advisor team constructs an individualized curriculum that includes liberal and professional studies courses from the three schools: Arts and Sciences, Architecture and Design, and Business and Management. The students complete their educations with at least one internship.
